Scenes that take place at Stegosaurus Lake are filmed at China Lake in Washington state, USA (pictured above), and by a small man-made puddle in a garden somewhere in Tacoma.

Stegosaurus Lake

Side: North.

Climate: Temperate.

Home to: Jasper (periodically).

Stegosaurus Lake is the primary water source of the north and the largest component of a large chain of lakes and waterholes that spans across the Northern Forest. The crystal blue waters of the lake are surrounded by coniferous vegetation and are home to a whole host of aquatic wildlife. Stegosaurus stenops, by far the most common herbivore of the Northern Forest, is a common site near the lake, which is what gives the lake its name. They can be found drinking by the water's edge, or soaking in the deeper sections of the lake. The only large predator that consistently hunts in the depths of the lake is Jasper, an extremely old, male Deinosuchus. However, even Jasper only hunts in the lake at certain times, as he, just like the rest of his species, tends to move from water source to water source because of variances in food availability. Stegosaurus lake is usually patrolled by much smaller crocodilians and also several genera of predatory fish.
